Strengthening the Bridge Between Science, Policy, and International Collaboration
Our WG5 Vice Leader and Deputy Science Communication Coordinator, Amra Džuho, participated in the COST Academy workshops Science for Policy and International Scientific Networking, held in Brussels, Belgium.
The workshops brought together representatives of COST Actions and international research networks to strengthen participants’ capacity to connect scientific evidence with policymaking, foster stakeholder engagement, and enhance the societal impact of research. The programme focused on science diplomacy, international scientific cooperation, and strategies for building sustainable global research partnerships in an increasingly interconnected world.
Throughout the workshops, participants explored practical approaches for translating scientific knowledge into evidence-informed policies and discussed the importance of effective science communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-sector collaboration in addressing complex societal and global challenges.
Participation in these workshops represents an important opportunity to further strengthen the activities of CardioPharmaGENET in the areas of policy impact, science communication, stakeholder engagement, and international collaboration. The knowledge gained and the professional connections established will support the Action’s mission of fostering multidisciplinary cooperation and promoting the integration of pharmacogenetics and personalized medicine into cardiovascular healthcare across Europe and beyond.
