Career Opportunity: Resident Academic Position in Bioinformatics at the University of Malta

The University of Malta has opened applications for a Resident Academic Full-Time Post in Bioinformatics within its Centre for Molecular Medicine and Biobanking.

The position offers an excellent opportunity for researchers seeking to develop an academic career in bioinformatics through a combination of teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, and academic leadership. The appointment begins with a four-year contract, followed by a tenure-track process leading to the possibility of a permanent academic position, subject to a successful tenure review.

Applicants should hold a PhD (or D.Phil.) in Bioinformatics or a closely related discipline. Experience in research, university teaching, postgraduate supervision, and securing competitive research funding will be considered an advantage. The successful candidate will contribute to postgraduate education, interdisciplinary research, grant development, scientific publishing, and the Centre’s academic and outreach activities.
