Participation in COST Academy Training on EU Decision-Making and Science Advocacy
As part of her activities as Chair of the CardioPharmaGENET, Dr. Adna Ašić participated in the COST Academy training “Understanding EU decision-making processes: How to advocate your interest”.
The training provided an in-depth and highly interactive overview of European Union decision-making and legislative processes, with a particular focus on how research communities can effectively engage with policymakers and contribute to evidence-based policy development. Additional discussions explored how these approaches can be adapted for use in European countries outside the EU. A key outcome of the training was the enhanced understanding of how researchers and research networks can strengthen their advocacy efforts, improve communication of scientific evidence, and increase the societal impact of their work. The programme emphasised the importance of translating scientific findings beyond academia to ensure they reach relevant stakeholders and decision-makers.
