Precision Medicine at the Crossroads of Cardiovascular Disease and Inflammation: Joint COST Action Webinar Successfully Held
The joint webinar “Precision Medicine at the Crossroads of Cardiovascular Disease and Inflammation”, organized by the COST Actions CardioPharmaGENET (CA24165) and INFLAMomx (CA24166), was successfully held on 10 September 2026, bringing together 85 participants for an interdisciplinary discussion on emerging approaches in precision medicine.
Cardiovascular disease and chronic inflammation are closely interconnected, with inflammatory processes contributing to the development and progression of several cardiovascular conditions. Advances in genomics, multiomics, biomarker discovery, and pharmacogenomics are providing new opportunities to better characterize disease mechanisms and support more precise approaches to prevention, diagnosis, risk assessment, and treatment.
The webinar brought together experts from the fields of cardiovascular research, inflammation, genomics, and pharmacogenomics to discuss how these rapidly developing areas can contribute to the advancement of precision medicine and strengthen interdisciplinary research.
Speakers
- Dr. Yvan Devaux – Moderator
- Dr. Adna Ašić – Chair of CardioPharmaGENET
- Dr. Andrea Gelemanović – Chair of INFLAMomx
The discussions highlighted the importance of integrating complementary scientific approaches to improve the understanding of cardiovascular disease and inflammation. Particular emphasis was placed on the potential of molecular and biomarker-based approaches, together with pharmacogenomic information, to support more individualized therapeutic strategies.
With 85 participants, the webinar also provided an important platform for scientific exchange and networking among researchers and professionals working across related disciplines. The event demonstrated the value of collaboration between COST Actions in connecting research communities and fostering interdisciplinary perspectives on complex health challenges.
The successful organization of this joint webinar represents another step towards strengthening collaboration between CardioPharmaGENET and INFLAMomx and supporting knowledge exchange in the field of precision medicine.
CardioPharmaGENET (CA24165) and INFLAMomx (CA24166) are COST Actions supported by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST).
